Trustees Re-Elected for St. Barnabas Clinical Services


Gibsonia, Pa. - Jan. 25, 2007 - The board of trustees has recently been re-elected for St. Barnabas Clinical Services Inc., the subsidiary corporation of St. Barnabas Health System that operates St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and The Arbors at St. Barnabas.

St. Barnabas Nursing Home is a 172-bed skilled nursing facility in Richland Township Allegheny County. Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas is a 47-bed skilled nursing facility in Valencia borough, Butler County. The Arbors at St. Barnabas is a 182-bed assisted living facility in Valencia borough, Butler County. Each facility operated by St. Barnabas Clinical Services Inc. is managed by a highly trained staff credentialed in state-of-the-art nursing and assisted living care and includes on-site rehabilitation therapy and a warm, elegant setting.

Elected as trustees for St. Barnabas Clinical Services Inc. during 2007 are:

  • John Turnbull of Hampton Township, chairman. Turnbull worked in the insurance industry for 35 years, retiring in 1999 as Vice President of Daniell-Sapp-Boorn Associates, an insurance brokerage firm in Pittsburgh. A trustee of St. Barnabas Health System since 1989, he leads the PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS® committee and has served on the St. Barnabas Charities Community Advisory Committee since 1980. Turnbull is a former deacon and an active volunteer at his church, Memorial Park Presbyterian. He served in the Army Intelligence Corps from 1962 to 1965, which included 2˝ years of service in Germany. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in history from Thiel College.

  • Karen Tabacchi of Penn Township, Butler County, president. Tabacchi is responsible for overseeing the operations, personnel and administrative decisions of St. Barnabas Medical Center, St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and The Arbors at St. Barnabas. A registered nurse, she is a graduate of the Nursing School of Allegheny Community College and holds a degree in business administration from LaRoche College. She has been employed by St. Barnabas for 19 years.

  • Brooks Bartlett of McCandless, treasurer. Bartlett attended West Virginia University and was enrolled in its pre-physical therapy program; he completed his education at the D.T. Watson School of Physical Therapy, affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh. He was the Director of Physical Therapy and Rehab at West Penn Hospital until 1989, when he opened his own private practice. He is now semi-retired. Bartlett serves as chairman of the St. Barnabas Charities Community Advisory Committee and is a member of the St. Barnabas Charitable Golf Open committee. He is an officer and board member of the Pittsburgh Jazz Society, where he is involved with its various activities. He also serves as president of the Triple Creek Acres Improvement Association, a vacation community in the Laurel Mountains.
