Tamburitzans to Perform at Kean Theatre

Gibsonia, Pa. - Aug. 16, 2005 - For the fourth year in a row, the Tamburitzans of Duquesne University bring their spectacular show to the Kean Theatre in The Washington Place, 5847 Meridian Road. The new season's production will take the stage at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14. The colorfully costumed troupe brings to the North Hills a delightful evening of spectacular song and dance.

Tickets are still available at $31 each and can be purchased by calling (724) 444-5326 or by visiting www.keantheatre.com. Proceeds benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund, which in 2004 alone, provided more than $5.76 million in free care to patients at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and The Arbors at St. Barnabas.

The Tamburitzans will fill the stage of the intimate Kean Theatre with live music, song and dance of Eastern Europe and neighboring cultures. Since the troupe was introduced to the city of Pittsburgh in 1937, the Tamburitzans have tripled in size and perform for a multitude of audiences across America.

Full-time students at Duquesne University, each member of this talented group has met required academic standards and worked for many years on their artistic flair. The students hail from several countries as well as Western Pennsylvania. Each student has endored rigorous camps, interviews and tryouts before becoming a member of one of the world's most unique group of performing artists.

The Tamburitzans' performance is sponsored by Citizens Bank, a Tony level sponsor of the Kean Theatre.
