"We have added a new element to the Kean this season - each of our plays will run two weekends rather than our traditional one weekend," said Tom Madden, managing director of the Kean Theatre. "This is possible because of the audience base we've built up over the last five years. Our numbers have exceeded even my expectations and really underscore what a demand there is for the arts in the North Hills."

This hilarious farce begins on the biggest night in the history of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company. World famous Italian tenor Tito Morelli is scheduled to sing the title role in Otello. From there chaos and comedy rule as the manager of the Cleveland Opera and his assistant, Max discover their world-famous Italian tenor is dead, or so they think. Now they must come up with another tenor - Max gets into costume, Tito Morelli awakes and now two tenors are running about in this non-stop comedy.

"Lend Me a Tenor" is directed by Madden, a veteran of the Pittsburgh theatrical scene. The cast includes Kean Theatre veterans Tom Bickert as Max, the assistant; Elysia Annacini as daughter Maggie. Pat Shiner is the bellhop; and Ginny Quaglia plays mistress Diana. Making their Kean debut, Don Pepe stars as Tito Morelli; Jerry Johnston as Saunders. Heather Lynn McNeish and Toniaray DiGiacomo play the roles of Maria Morelli and Julia.

Proceeds from the Kean Theatre benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund. In 2005 alone, the Free Care Fund provided $6.29 million to patients at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and The Arbors at St. Barnabas who otherwise would not be able to afford their care. "Lend Me a Tenor" is sponsored by UPMC Health Plan, an Oscar-level sponsor of the Kean Theatre, and NexTier Bank and North Pittsburgh Telephone Co. are Grammy-level sponsors.

The Kean Theatre is open to the public and has built a reputation for its convenient location, free parking, quality entertainment and elegant setting. The theatre is operated by St. Barnabas Charities, the fund-raising arm of St. Barnabas Health System. The Health System also includes St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas, The Arbors at St. Barnabas, The Village at St. Barnabas, The Woodlands at St. Barnabas, The Washington Place at St. Barnabas, and St. Barnabas Medical Center. Theatre proceeds benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund.
